Create Custom Tags for Products

Create custom tags and add them to products in your projects to manage information, tasks and other statuses.

Alcove allows you to create custom tags to manage all of the unique tasks and processes within your projects.

Here are some examples of how our customers use custom tags:

  • Indicate if a product has been delayed or backordered

  • Show if a product is ready to be ordered

  • Mark products that are damaged or returned

  • Group shipments together

You can add and manage custom tags on both the Product Status page as well as any of the individual Product Details pages.

Adding a Tag to a Product

  1. Click on the Tag icon which you can find on the Product Status page in the tags column next to the Status and on the Product page in the top right corner under the status.

  2. Select from existing tags or type a new tag name into the open field and click Add

  3. Click on the tag name or the checkbox to the right of the tag name to add to a product

  4. The tag will now appear on the product both on the Product Status page and the Product Details page.

Removing a Tag from a Product

  1. Hover over the tag you would like to remove

  2. Click on the three dots in the bottom left corner of the tag

  3. Click Remove Tag and the tag will be removed from the Product

Editing a Tag Name or Color

Note: This will edit the Name and Color of this tag across all of your projects

  1. Hover over the tag you would like to edit

  2. Click on the three dots in the bottom left corner of the tag

  3. Click on the name field to edit the name

  4. Click on the different colors to update the color

  5. Click out to Save

Deleting a Tag

Note: This will delete the tag from all projects and products

  1. Click on the tag icon to view all tags

  2. Click on the Trash can icon next to the tag you would like to delete from your account

  3. Confirm the deletion from your account in the top right corner of the page by clicking Delete
