AI Extract Updates is the on-demand version of Alcove’s email-to-project AI. Open a message in Alcove, run extraction, and review suggested field changes before anything is saved.
This is different from Inbox Review, which scans your inbox in the background on a schedule. Extract Updates runs only when you click it on a specific email thread.
Important: AI features are free while Alcove AI is in beta. Nothing is written to your project until you apply selected suggestions.
Where to find it
Go to Messages (or open Messages inside a project).
Open an email thread that is assigned to a project.
Click AI Extract Updates.
Alcove analyzes the message (and eligible image/PDF attachments) and proposes updates to products, orders, invoices, estimates, service fees, or project fields when it finds them.
Review and apply
Review each suggested change and leave checked only the updates you want.
If Alcove isn’t sure which product matches, choose the correct product under the product-match section and keep Include checked for matches you want applied.
Click Apply to save the selected updates.
If something looks close but not right, use Adjust suggestions to revise or refresh, then apply again.
Right after a successful apply, you may see a short Undo window that restores the previous field values.
Tips
Assign the email to the correct project first so Alcove has the right product and order context. See Assign emails to projects and products.
Clearer PDFs and images (typically larger than tiny thumbnails) extract more reliably.
Use thumbs up/down feedback on the extraction when available—it helps improve results.
How this relates to Inbox Review
AI Extract Updates — you open a thread and run extraction yourself.
Inbox Review — Alcove scans connected Gmail on Daily or Real Time cadence and queues suggestions under Messages → Inbox Review.
Both use the same style of review-and-apply flow. Prefer Inbox Review when you want background scanning; use Extract Updates when you’re already looking at a specific email.
