Upload one or more product documents — spec sheets, tear sheets, invoices, estimates, or quotes — and Alcove AI extracts the product details for you to review and create. You can upload multiple files at once, and a single document can produce multiple products when it contains more than one item (for example, an invoice or estimate).
Important: AI features are free while Alcove AI is in beta. Always review extracted fields before creating products — nothing is saved until you confirm.
What you can upload
Supported file types: PDF and common image formats.
Good sources include:
Spec sheets / cut sheets
Tear sheets
Invoices, estimates, quotes, and order confirmations
Catalog pages that list distinct products
Add products from files
Open a project and go to Product Status.
Click the + (plus) icon next to the Product column, then choose Add Products from Files.
If the project has no products yet, you can also use Add Products from Files on the empty-state screen.Drag and drop one or more files, or click to upload.
Alcove uploads each file and analyzes it with AI. You'll see progress per file (upload percentage, then an Analyzing state).
When extraction finishes, review the list of products ready to create:
Expand a row to review extracted fields and photos. Uncheck anything you don't want to import.
If one document contained multiple products, each appears as its own row (for example, Product 1 of 2).
Remove a row or retry if something failed.
Click Create X Products to add the selected items to your project.
When creation finishes, click Done.
One document, multiple products
If you upload an invoice, estimate, quote, or similar document that lists several products, Alcove extracts each distinct product into its own reviewable row. Non-product lines such as shipping, tax, fees, or labor are skipped.
You can still create only some of the extracted products — uncheck or remove any rows you don't need before mass create.
Update an existing product from a file
You can also refresh a single existing product from a document:
Open the product you want to update.
Use the option to update from a spec / document file.
Review the extracted fields. Values that differ from the current product are highlighted so you can choose what to apply.
Note: Update-from-file is for a single product. Multi-file and multi-product extraction apply when you are adding products via Add Products from Files.
How this differs from other import options
Spreadsheet import — upload a CSV/XLSX of many products with column mapping. Best for bulk migration from another system. See Import Products to Alcove.
Product Clipper — capture products from vendor websites in Chrome. See Get Started: Clip your Products.
Add Products from Files — upload PDFs or images (spec sheets, tear sheets, invoices) and let AI extract product fields.
Tips
Clearer documents (legible PDFs or high-resolution images) extract more accurately.
Always review confidence labels and uncheck fields that look wrong before creating.
For multi-product invoices, photos may be shared across the document — decide per product which photos to keep.
If a file fails, use Retry on that row without re-uploading everything.
